5. In the world of pharmacy, I often hear a lot of buzz about 'pharmacy' in terms of 'pharmacy-type products'.I've been hearing this buzz for a while now, but it's become increasingly clear that 'pharmacy-type products' are more than just a word - they're an umbrella word that includes everything from prescription drugs to over-the-counter medications.
Here are five of the top 'pharmacy-type products' that you might hear about - but which aren't typically mentioned in the media, or aren't mentioned in the news.
In the world of pharmacy, Viagra has become synonymous with impotence treatment - a condition in which a man's penis is found to have a large penis. It was first developed in the late 1990s by Pfizer (who also owns and operates the brand name Revatio), who were marketing it as a treatment for the symptoms of erectile dysfunction.
In 1998, Viagra was approved by the FDA for treating erectile dysfunction. It's one of the most famous erectile dysfunction treatments ever! In fact, it was the #1 selling drug in the world for 20 years.
Viagra has been the subject of some controversy due to its link to a potential link to cancer, especially in certain cases of diabetes. However, in a 2016 study published in, researchers examined all of the leading U. S. cancer-causing drugs and found that Viagra was slightly more effective than the other three.
While it may sound a bit low, the studies also showed that men who used the drug for a long time tended to experience fewer side effects. The most commonly reported side effects were:
Researchers have also noted that Viagra may be associated with more serious side effects, including:
These side effects are usually temporary and usually resolve on their own within a few weeks. However, if you're experiencing the side effects, you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist as soon as you can because they may be able to help.
Lipitor was originally developed to prevent heart attacks, but researchers were shocked to discover that it actually had a much longer duration of action (up to 36 hours). This is when you might not be aware that a medication might trigger an allergic reaction.
At first glance, it sounds like Lipitor may be a pretty good fit for some patients. However, like most drugs, it has side effects that you might not expect. The side effects tend to last for a few weeks to months, although some people report that it can take up to a year or more before you feel the full effects.
Lipitor has a different mechanism of action than some other medications. It works by blocking an enzyme called type II 5-alpha-reductase, which converts testosterone into estrogen. When estrogen levels are low, it reduces the amount of testosterone produced, which can lead to muscle growth, libido and muscle loss.
It's been known for some time that taking Lipitor can lead to a decrease in blood sugar levels. It's also possible that the drug can affect the liver, potentially reducing how well the body metabolises it. In any case, it's not recommended to take Lipitor on an empty stomach because the medication can cause stomach irritation.
Stendra was originally developed to treat erectile dysfunction, but researchers were surprised to learn that it actually works in men. It works by increasing blood flow to the penis. It's known as a vasodilator, meaning it widens blood vessels so that blood can flow into the penis without triggering an erection. In fact, many doctors believe that Stendra works the same way as Viagra, a widely used drug that causes flushing and muscle aches in men who have been diagnosed with erectile dysfunction.

Walgreens’s warning of a dangerous delay in sales of Viagra
The recent announcement byWalgreensthat it is now working withPfizerto stopsildenafil citrate(the active ingredient in Viagra) from being available in the UK, was the latest in a string of concerning safety concerns.
This wasnotthe first time Pfizer’s announcement has been made public. In 2002,wrote a letter to the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) that the Viagra pill had beennot effectiveand advised that the company is ‘reviewing’ the issue.
This decision was made after theMHRAreview received theSildenafil citrateletter in theAprilissue, and after a review of several clinical trials.
It’s clear from’s announcement that it is in the best interests of the company and patients to be makingtheir preferred choiceof which drug to prescribe in the UK, and is therefore in the best interest of the company.
Although thereview received no warning on the safety issue, Pfizer has taken a number of steps to address this concern, including anattemptedsale of Viagra fromin theOctoberissue.
Pfizer also launchedViagrain the UK in theissue, following thereview, inJanuaryand inMarch.
